John Colwell

John Colwell, son of Henry and Elizabeth Colwell, was born in Stark county in 1837, where his parents settled at an early date, as related in their history in this chapter. At the age of twenty-four years he married Miss Elmira Fast, daughter of Philip and Mary Fast, who was born in Ohio in 1845, and came with her parents to this county in 1819, where her father died in 1855. After Mr. Colwell's marriage he entered on farming for himself, and now owns 151 acres of choice land on section 18. They are the parents of four children, Mary B., Charlie O., Marvin B. and Mira J. In politics Mr. Colwell is Democratic. By industry he has built up round him a pleasant home, and by example a good family.
