Erastas Brown
Erastas Brown and his wife, Amanda (Stafford) Brown, natives of Vermont, removed in 1843 to DeKalb county, Ill., where they remained only a short time, when they removed to Peoria county. There Mr. Brown purchased a farm and began its improvement; there Mrs. Brown passed to her last sleep. About a year later Mr. Brown married Miss McCumpsey; immediately after came to Stark county, and settled in Toulon township, but after a few years removed to Lafayette, where he died, October 18, 1870, being then in his seventy-fourth year. He was a soldier of the war of 1812.
